Audition tape or Casting call?

I am trying to get cast on a reality show.
In order to audition for the show you can either send in an audtion tape or you may attend an open casting call.
The closest city to mine with a casting call scheduled is approximately 400 miles away, and although I don’t mind traveling that, I was curious as to which way of auditioning would be more effective.
Would I have better luck with an audition tape (5 min) or a casting call?
I’m reallyoutgoing, and I’m the “class clown”. I hate to “fake” myself like I’m going to have to do with the audition tape….I have been storyboarding the whole thing, and it’s starting to feel like it’s becoming horribly disingenuous…

Tomorrow I have Alice in Wonderland auditions. The casting director puts us in groups and assigns us roles. Them after getting the script and practicing for about 5 minutes with our groups, we perform it. The age range is from 1st-8th grade to audition and I am in 8th. [so I have a better chance of getting a bigger role.]
I get nervous, so what is the best way to not get nervous while performing?

so yesterday was my disney audition. my additional talent was singing. just when i finished singing the casting director said “wow amazing, you have a really good voice” and after i acted out the scene that she told me to she said “that was really really good, now this time I’m gonna read the other parts now think that ur really cool like ur too cool for everyone and everyone will just fall for you” and i acted that part out and she said “wonderful, you do not know how adorable you are, and you really have a good ear” [[that means i listened to her, just incase u dont understand]] and then afterwards when i was already gone my cousin [[who works at the agency the audition took place]] called me and she said that she asked how my audition went and the casting director told her that i was really really good. is the director telling the truth? or is she just saying that to everyone so they wont feel bad? and based on the things she said, is there a good chance i’ll make it into disney? this has been my long life dream and i was never interested in anything else.
